The information displayed here is at the time of death.
Edmund was born in Gloucestershire in 1894 to Arthur Kerr, a Civil Engineer, and Mary Jane Trimmer. He had an older brother called Arthur, and a younger sister called Margaret. They had relocated to the North East by at least 1901.
He studied at Armstrong College between 1911 and 1914 and received a BSc. (Applied Science) in 1914.
Edmund died of his wounds at Chunuk Bair on 10th August 1915 aged 21.
A mistake appears to have been made on the memorial, giving Edmund's middle initial as "A" instead of the correct "H".
Edmund is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli.
