Frederick was the son of Frederick Michael and Barbara Rupp.
He served at Gallipoli and France from 1915 to 1916 and was wounded twice in 1915. Frederick was killed in action at the Somme on 1st July 1916 aged 23.
Frederick is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in the Somme, France.
Frederick's name is also inscribed on a cross on Front Street, East Boldon, and on a stained glass window in the Congregational Church, East Boldon.
