William was the son of David and Mary Ann Mole. The College of Medicine Day Students Register No 4 (p.87) lists the family address as 40 Coquet Terrace and lists William’s sister Jane attending as a corporaion scholar studying langauages from 1909.
William was a student of the College of Medicine in Newcastle upon Tyne 1909 – 1913. In 1910 William won 1st prize in practical physics and 2nd prize in practical chemistry at the University.
William died of his wounds on 29 August 1917, aged 28 years old.
