George was the son of Colonel H. V. Kent.
He studied at Armstrong College between 1910 and 1913 obtaining a BSc. (Applied Science) in 1913.
George joined the Royal Engineers, 490th Field Company and was promoted to Temporary Second Lieutenant on 17th January 1915. He later attained the rank of Captain.
George was killed in action on 24th March 1918.
George is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial in Somme, France.
