Percy was the son of William and Dorothy Ann Johnston, who lived in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
He served initially in the Northumberland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion. He went on to attain the rank of Captain and was transferred to the Durham Light Infantry, 3rd Battalion.
Percy died on 12th September 1916 aged 22.
Percy is buried in the Lahana Military Cemetery in Greece.
