Biography

Richard was born in Hebburn, Durham, in 1888. He was the son of Thomas and Helen Jameson and had a brother, William and two sisters Grace and Jessie.

He attended Armstrong College, where he gained a BSc. He later became a school teacher.

Richard married Margaret Allan Nairn on 26th July 1913 at Jarrow and lived at 5 Glebe Crescent, Washington Station in County Durham when Richard enlisted. While he was serving his wife lived with her mother at 112 Clayton Street, Jarrow.

Richard died of his wounds while serving in Egypt on 22nd December 1917 aged 29.
