Theodore was born in 1886 to Mr H. T. and Kate Cox in Bootle Lancashire. According to the England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1966 - Theodore left his widow Doris Gwendoline effects of £163 11s. Her address at this time is listed as 33 Mecklenburgh Square, Middlesex. There is a marriage registration for Theodore Russell & Doris G Taylor in quarter Jan-March 1915.
Theodore studied at Armstrong College between 1902 and 1905, gaining a BSc. in June 1905.
Theodore is listed as a Second Lieutenant on 15th January 1915, later attaining the rank of Lieutenant in the Durham Light Infantry, 14th Battalion. Theodore was killed in action on either the 26th or the 27th September 1915 aged 29.
